My Favourite Five Songs (So Far) From The SM Station Project
SM's Station Project has proven successful, showcasing both SM and non-SM artists with. With six more months left, I want to recap the ones that gave me all the feels and gave me Lebron hairline problems thus far.
5.Lay-Monodrama Oozing late 90s-early 2000's R&B, Monodrama makes me feel some type of way. It makes me want to be in a relationship, just to be heartbroken and have this song playing on repeat in the background as I cry warm, salty tears onto my pillow. I don't consider myself an EXO-L by any means, but if Lay did lead vocals on more of their tracks, he may convert me.
4.Chen and Heize-Lil' Something Ok, I SWEAR I'm not an EXO-L, but again, we have a prime example of a choice cut done by an EXO member. Heize's rapid fire verses, her and Chen's back and forth during the pre-chours and the funk factor take it from good to phenomenal.
3.JungJae Moon and Ilji Kim-Regrets and Resolutions A track that doesn't have a immediately recognizable idol, SM took a major gamble with "Regrets and Resolutions". Piano and flute driven, the resulting 5+ minutes are impeccable, doing the Gary Schocker original justice.
2.Inlayer-Mindjack If somewhere told me that SM Entertainment, pristine and polished, was gonna drop a hard rock song, I would have rolled my eyes. However, SM not only release a hard rock song, they released a legit headbanger. The kind of rock song you'd hear at the filthiest, most mosh pit thrashing, crowd surfing concert only your parents or non-mainstream rock friends would know the likes of.
1.BoA & Beezino-No Matter What It was only a matter of time before SM hopped onto the Caribbean-inspired route a la Kygo and Jack U. Better late than never. I'm even more pleased that BoA was the artist assigned, along with K-Rapper Beezino. The Queen of K-Pop's are immediate, recognizable and dreamy. And the music video... #queenofsavingtheenviornment.
