Hurts is gearing up to release the follow-up to their debut "Happiness", which included the flawlessness that is "Stay." Today they offered up the first single from the project, "The Road." How does this new tune hold up?
To be honest, this is a bit of a disappointment. The best thing about the song is the heavily distorted chorus with Theo Hutchcraft bellowing "When I Close My Eyes I See You..." Everything before that seems a bit on the anti-climatic side. The ending reminds me of a Silversun Pickups song ("Carnavas" era). I don't think I will be adding this to my collection
