Games For Days: Kiss&Cry's "Domino Game" and Boys Republic's "Video Game"
Two K-Pop songs with the word game have crossed my path so to kill two birds with one stone, I'll talk about them both.
Though Kiss&Cry's "Domino Game" is about a month old, I'm just discovering it for the first time after seeing a small clip of the awesome clock move they did the M/V. "Domino Game" is a fierce stomper, dictated via strong harmonization, samba style production and militant drum line. Their debut under the Winning Insight label, the four members of the group carry themselves as seasoned idols. They exude confidence, the vocals on the track are powerful and are already gaining a warm reception from netizens.
Now on the male side of the spectrum, Boys Republic, another rookie group who debuted last year, plan on releasing three different concept songs for their 2014 comeback. The first is the appropriately-titled "Video Game", which uses a skittering trap-style beat, blended with 80s style video games sounds. The fivesome pull off a bop that is ideal for driving on a highway during a Saturday night. Think VIXX's "Rock Ur Body" with a slightly slower tempo and a lot of grit.
