While sexy seems to be the flavour of the month in K-Pop, Park Ji Yoon is still riding the retro train that started with "Mr.Lee" back in October.
"Beep" follows the ambient "Inner Space" pre-release and is packed with thundering bass drum and a prominent suppressed sounding piano line. One part of the song suffers from an annoying repetition of the word what, which sounds like another word (hint: add a t to the beginning). Not sure if it was on purpose to be funny or... Now the ingenious video: They combined original footage of Asians in 70s clothing dancing for the M/V with footage from the iconic 70s show "Soul Train" to make it look like they are dancing to the song. Has this ever been done in a K-Pop video before and if it has, was it this good? If you never saw "Soul Train", you would think Park's agency went and got a bunch of black people and got them to do this video. Oh, and Jay Park is in the video #thethirst.
