This can't be a coincidence. Just the other day I was listening to NS Yoon Ji's "I Got You" and wondering where the hell she went. Her 2012 hit "If You Love Me" introduced me to my ultimate K-Pop bias Jay Park and her songs "I Got You" and "The Reason I Became A Witch" are equally great bops and made me a fanboy right away, so to see her not do anything music-related in 2013 was disappointing. I was expecting her to comeback full force, get back together with Brave Brothers or some other well-known producer, capitalize on the "If You Love Me" hype and get that first top ten smash ("If You Love Me" peaked at #14 on the charts and hosted a number of amazing live stages during the promotion period).
Now, somehow, some way, Yoon Ji has heard my thoughts and has shared the news that she's dropping a new mini album and title track called "Yashishi"
AllKPop describes the song as a retro tango song with hip hop rhythm that will give off a Latin vibe with its guitar and piano sounds.
The song will also be produced by someone from the Duble Sidekick team so hopefully it will slay me much like "Countryside Life" did during the middle of last year.
Sadly, I don't know how a year out of the spotlight is gonna affect her chart position, but if the title track is good she can't do any worse that top fifty, plus you have to account what she plans on doing for her live stages. Plus, Yoon Ji did three comebacks in 2012, so it's possible that this isn't the only project she has in store for her fans...
Here's to April 1st and to not being made a fool of...
