Jiyeon "Never Ever"

News of two T-ARA solo releases from Hyomin and Jiyeon was a shocker to most. While the group has been slowly regaining their popularity, they still aren't at the tier they were before the bullying scandal in 2012. The third of a slew of K-Pop singles produced by Duble Sidekick and released in succession (G.Na's "Pretty Lingerie" and Hyosung's "Goodnight Kiss") Jiyeon's "Never Ever" could easily be shoved in the bin of K-Pop songs that have been major disappointments this year. Another Brave Brothers/SISTAR ripoff...

However, when you encompass the song and the concept of the video as a whole, the song can be viewed from a new perspective. The dance breathes new life into the sexy concept, which draws inspiration from American singer Ciara and her video for "Promise".  With that being said, it isn't blatant copy cat work, there are just some strong similarities between the two, like the coat over the head and the wall grinding,
but Jiyeon trumps Ciara with the creative aspect, including the mirror reflection and couples section.
