It that more or less the hype behind Korean artist PSY has died down but the impact has already been made. With 2 billion views for his worldwide hit "Gangnam Style", PSY continues his antics with his song "Hangover".
"Hangover" just seems to be a fun song discussing what happens when you have a bit too many. Trap influence an annoying sax riff (thanks for ruining it for us Jason Derulo) , plus surprisingly, Snoop Dogg's appearance on the song works well!
Best part of the song? The pre-chorus
Drink it up and get sick
Bottom’s up, get wasted
Pour it up, drink it up, live it up, give it up
Oh my God, dammit!
There’s the fucking limit
Pour it up, drink it up, live it up, give it up
And the video is culturally relevant (at least according to EatYourKimchi, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that one) to the drinking culture in South Korea. PSY and Dogg get drunk all night, scarf down noodles perform private karaoke with some lovely older ladies and start a large bar fight. PSY's labelmates CL and G-Dragon make appearances as well. I don't understand the bashing of the song. I'm pretty sure if these same people heard LMFAO's "Shots" or Lil' John and DJ Snake's "Turn Down For What" they would go off in the club, but because it's PSY, it automatically gets hate. #bye.
