BoA released "Only One" her first album since 2010's "Hurricane Venus" to great response and promoted her self-composed title track with amazing choreography. I assumed that she would take this time to tour, go on another break and release a follow-up in another two years. Nope! Yesterday, the idol of idols released a music video for her song "Disturbance" featuring SHINee's Taemin, who danced with BoA on some her comeback stages last year.
BoA takes a step into the R&B realm with this one. Some funky guitar, organ for good measure. Reminds me somewhat of the early 2000s or a more upbeat version of Diane Birch's "Nothing But a Miracle." The girl's vocals are as strong as they ever been, she even goes and hits some diva like high notes towards the end. That being said, the vocals weren't as strong or as vunerable as "Only One", which gave the song more of an effect.
Final Grade:B+
In the music video, Taemin and BoA play a couple (ex-couple I'm assuming), reminiscing about the past and lots of crying (very good crying if I may add) by Taemin. It looks as if it was shot concurrently with "Only One". They actually make a lovely on-screen couple and I wouldn't be surprised if they started dating after this. Also, there are two endings to the video!
