Graded Song: Paramore "Now"

Punk/pop band Paramore have had their personal ups and downs since the release of their 2009 record, "Brand New Eyes". The album spawned some of their best charting material to date, but two of their members were unhappy about their position in their band and left, leaving some pretty bad blood. The band, now a trio, have pushed on and recorded their self-titled fourth studio album to be released sometime in the Spring of this year. How does their new material fare?

What a coincidence! The song seems to be talking about the same thing I described. It seems to be more subdued than the bands previous lead single, but still hold's the band's signature angst-ridden kick. I do wish that chorus was a bit more full-throated and that one of the males would have contributed to the chorus as well. Also, when I listened to it again, I got some Blink-182 vibes from it, especially when Hayley Williams sings the first verse and the chord progression in the chorus. So this is Paramore now ow ow ow ow ow ow ow...
Final Grade:B-
