Took me by surprise. With a title like "Like Cho Young Pil" (who is a famous K-Pop singer for your information) you would assume it would be some K-Hop banger with some R&B influence here and there, much like Infinite H did with their debut EP. However, this is a midtempo ballad a la K.Will with emphasis on a military driven drumbeat and piano. The rapping (done by Kiggen) was kept to a bare minimum and mostly relied on Sanchez's singing and the group's harmonies. If you didn't start to tear up at some point of the song, you definitely have no heart. Overall, it is a unexpectedly beautiful piece that is one of the best this year so far in my book.
Final Grade:A
The music video for this choice piece of tuneage chronicles the fictional life of Phantom becoming a legitimate idol group with a documentary-type thing going on (which I assume is part of their concept for this era). We see them lose their first contract, deal with issues within the group, and fiance trouble, while trying to get another contract. I really like the idea behind the video, but I also feel like it was a bit forced at some parts (like the bickering between Kiggen and Hanhae). It was still an enjoyable video either way and makes me appreciate the idols who don't have the luxury of being trained before getting signed.
