Hyomin's "Nice Body" Is Disappoinment To Say The Least...

With Jiyeon's "Never Ever" being a somewhat interesting song, but overall a strong concept, Hyomin's solo debut was looking to trump hers with the multiple picture teasers, a 19+ M/V and Brave Brothers produced title track.
"Nice Body" is crippled by what I'm calling the K-Pop Curse of 2014: boring, uninspired productions that are too conventional, too safe and too reductive, compared to last year, where even the most basic of comebacks were still amazingly catchy. Heap that on with the bludgeoned to death sexy concept wave and you have "Nice Body" in a nutshell. Brave Brothers decided to give her some half-baked version of AOA's "Miniskirt" . I had a problem with the music video and no it wasn't the sexiness, it was the misogynistic fat-shaming. They could have tastefully did the whole body transformation storyline without objectifying Hyomin, much like Robin Thicke did with the women in the "Blurred Lines" video. People still fail to see that society can be easily influenced by media and with K-Pop's every growing fanbase, they aren't doing much in the realm of accepting yourself. But hey, with a nice body, that doesn't matter right?
