David Guetta must be feeling the squeeze now. Now that generic dance music has been more or less put to the side in the mainstream, the DJ superstar has to find another way to get his coins when he isn't at these big music festivals.
He recruited singer Skylar Grey to cover Nancy Sinatra's "Bang Bang" and threw some dance beats on it and "Shot Me Down" was born. So far, it has only been released to Beatport, so there's no guarantee this is his comeback single. The song sounds so abnormal. The guitar driven part does not sound right with the rest of the song and Guetta is clearly swagger jacking other DJs like Martin Garrix and DVBBS & Borgeous (which isn't a bad move since the breakdown is solid). He could salvage this if he decided to redo the guitar part and overlay it with a even bassline or something.
