It was announced yesterday that B.A.P would be making a comeback in the new year. With this I scratched my head in much confusion. I do enjoy new B.A.P but I assumed that B.A.P would be getting the lie low and build up anticipation treatment while TS Entertainment focused on one of their other acts, or at least debut a new one like everyone else is doing.
B.A.P have made a comeback every January since 2012. "Warrior" being their debut in 2012, "One Shot" being their 2nd and whatever this next song is as their third. Then there are all the pre-mini/single tracks to build hype for the actual releases. And let's not forget the fact that the boys have to record music videos, music show performances, cover shoots and other promo that go along with all these comebacks. B.A.P had one hell of a year last year, like one whirlwind of a year. They came back twice (though it feels like more) did sold out shows in America and even promoted two singles in Japan!!! And let's look at the overall stats shall we?
B.A.P debuted in 2012 (as stated before). As of today, they have released 3 mini albums:
["No Mercy" (2012), "One Shot" and "Badman" (2013)], one repackaged EP ["Crash" (2012], and three single albums [("Warrior," "Power" and "Stop It")]. That's more than a lot of rookie groups do in three years, let alone two!!!
It's time to give the boys a much deserved and needed vacation. TS Entertainment risks overexposing the boys and making them look stale. Shelf life of K-Pop groups is short and TS only has so many acts to keep them afloat. Maybe instead of a new B.A.P album/single/mini release, they should focus on a solo debut from one of the members. It would give the public a chance to get the know that member outside of the group dynamic. To be honest, I wouldn't mind seeing Young Guk, Zelo or Jong Up doing the solo thing while the other members do dramas, variety shows or other things that won't be too strenuous and have the same benefits of my aforementioned suggestion. Then late spring, early summer we get some brand spanking new music and watch them win a couple of triple crowns and get those much deserved All-Kills.
Youngguk approves!
