Rainbow is another one of those groups (like Miss A) who put out music that I don't care too much about because everyone has already done it and done it better. But unlike Miss A, Rainbow isn't limited by productions by a certain label head and I've been waiting for a good song from the girls since their Kara copy cat single "A". I'm guessing DSP (who are dealing with the restructuring of K-Pop darlings Kara since Nicole and Jiyoung aren't renewing their contracts), they needed something to get the public talking about something non-Kara related, so the Rainbow Blaxx subunit was born.
I will admit that "Cha Cha" is cute: it's actually catchy and less campy then last year's "Tell Me Tell Me" and again, we see the throwback influence that Pharell has pushed back into the mainstream. K-Pop is killing (as in beating it to death) the sexy, mature concept in K-Pop: first Girl's Day, then Dal Shabet, then AoA now Rainbow Blaxx. Apparently, the music video is a retelling of the Goose That Laid Golden Eggs. It's more like Hansel and Gretel to me: Some creepy old lady is feeding the subunit hella sweets and in return they produce jewels for her. Unless they are the golden eggs, but that wouldn't make much senses since they're dressed in all black. That, combined with more butt dancing, a shimmy move with a whip and some very creepy touchy feely type stuff is essentially the video. PS: I don't care how pretty and well-maintained your feet are, if you put those things near my food, we're gonna have a serious problem. PPS:Macaroons are disgusting...
